There happened to be a gathering here in Gilbert, so I went to see what all the hub-bub was about. Yesterday I wrote about the Tea Parties and my curiosity about where all these protesters were the past 8 years. So today I decided to be a bystander and gather some audio. Photos too! - Hi Nick,
Thanks for your thoughts, it's a very good point. Most of these were in the more conservative places. There was one in Minneapolis/St. Paul. I saw a post giving a comparison of these tea parties to the crowd of over 100,000 when Obama announced he was running for President in Chicago. Not to mention the crowd at his Inauguration.
No comparison at all really. I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what it was all about. I blogged my thoughts post tea party at AZ Central:

Thanks for listening! - Thanks for getting out there for those of us who didn't or couldn't make it!
I have only two things to say ...
1) Where have they been since Iraq? Talk about wasteful spending and taxation ...
2) Good job on getting people out and being a part of the process. However, who did you reach? Other than reaching the most Red sections of the most Red states, who did you reach out to? Where were the San Fransisco, Oakland, Miami, New York protests? Sure, there was one in Philly, with three hundred attendees. The sections of our country populated with minorities and a true cross section of America were pretty silent, in my opinion.
Anyway, thank you again. Subscribed to the podcast, I'll be sure to not miss it :).
