  • There is more to "My Pet Goat" than just the words. The term encompasses everything happened, and should have happened that day.

What should have happened is the Bush should have put down that god damn book! There should have been more appropriate behavior given the memo's and briefings they had already.

Prior to all of this and him reading "My Pet Goat" was NORAD, NAED, DoD and air traffic controllers scrambling around and asking questions. Top of the list "should we launch interceptors?". Good question. As someone in the transcripts suggests; "someone needs to get around to that". That someone, those someones were Bush and Cheney. And all this was taking place BEFORE Bush even entered the elementary school. When Bush was given the news on camera, that was the news of the second plane and by that time much too late to do anything.

Sure they scrambled planes, one hundred and twenty miles out to sea in the wrong direction.

The inconvenient truth here is "they let it happen". 'Intentionally' can't be proven. In fact I don't believe it was. Ignorance and lack of imagination was more than likely a factor. No, the attack on that day was the last thing Bush wanted. The first thing he wanted was what Clinton wanted. To launch a full scale war with Iraq. What reasons? The very same, liberate a nation, remove a tyrant and remove weapons of mass destruction. Under Clinton's reign however Republicans including Dick Cheney himself said it would be a fiasco we would never get out of.

However, it is the old saying "It's ok when they do it".

It is my hope that ONE DAY history will be written on what transcribed on that day, and that it be for once ACCURATE.

  • I never watch MSNBC. I lost respect for Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews after their slanted support for Oprahama over Clinton during the primaries. I'm not a big fan of O'Reilly's but I am happy that he was on top of things during the Obama interview. Obama has enjoyed an easy ride with main stream media.

As for 9/11, I can't believe it's been 7 years. This day serves as a reminder that our freedoms do come at a cost.

Just my thoughts from a moderate conservative...

Hope you're doing well! Take care & hope to see you soon.

  • Xavier- Yeah, even though I am one of those who are in agreement with Olbermann (I've never been a big fan of Matthews though), it just bugs me after awhile, the way coverage in the mainstream is. Plus, I believe that if something is wrong, or if you think something is wrong, you take action in some way. You can only go on and on about things so much before it just gets old.

We need solutions to problems, not just complaining about them.

There are all sorts of things to be reminded about from that day 7 years ago. I just wanted to remind people that there are many reasons the tragic events happened, and it wasn't just terrorists.

Our government failed us as well.

I am glad you listen- and I'm sure we'll see each other at some radio event or somewhere soon! :-)

Tony- I hope you don't mind that I linked to you! I just felt it was a great piece, and it truly does say everything I was thinking about. I was going to edit out my corrections, but then figured, what the heck? :-)
