I'm offline today- and leaving all of you browsing by information on the SOPA and PIPA bills currently in Congress. They are anti-piracy laws. If passed with the current wording, industries would have WAY too much power over sites they can shut down. Just because in your little home video on you tube there's a music video by Maroon 5 playing in the background. I'm not kidding. It's so serious that Wikipedia, Reddit, and other high-profile websites are going black for 24 hours in protest. Educate yourself, and read more about these bills: http://americancensorship.org/ Tons of info on the FB page too! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Truth-Seekers-Podcast/107469955961219 Fight censorship! Welcome to the first part of the first of what I hope are many discussions- the first Truth Seekers Round Table! Once a month a group of misfits will meet to plan taking over the universe. Our plans are not hidden, we record everything so we can put it in our memiors later. Today I am joined by Debbie, Dan, Miles, and Sean! We start things off with introductions, and why we have the views we do. Things get crazy from there- and this is only part 1!! Part 2 will be live in a couple of days. **RECORDED ON DECEMBER 13, 2011. *RECORDED ON 12/1/2011 It's a guest! It's a guest! Finally, someone other than that Scott guy visits the studio and does a little seeking- it's my good friend Dan Shaurette! Yes, this was recorded three weeks ago. No, the topic is definitely not outdated- we're talking religion! Good times- here's the play-by-play: -So, who is this Dan guy? -He likes vampires -Twilight. Dammit. -Being ordained over the internet is not a bad thing. -there is meaning in marrying your friends. -Atheist vs. Agnostic. -"Why" is a fair question -Penn's book: "God, No" - Mimi Rogers? You mean the actress from the 80's? -How long should one question belief? -Open-mindedness is a good thing. -It's a War On Christmas! -Repostings on FB -Xmas fits in a tweet! -Dani checks her notes -Go Krackens! -It's Tebow time -Dan loves his wife -Does Christian equal a great person? -Exposing yourself in a club just makes you a dude. -...and we're back to Twilight. -Getting back to sports, how about football... Sigler-style? -What's next for Dan -It's not about YOU, it's about IDEAS. Finally- here it is! The audio recording of my session from PodcampAZ! I did not edit, only to make the levels a little more even. Please don't be too critical... I'm a sensitive one. ;) Email: tsdiva AT gmail DOT com Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Truth-Seekers-Podcast/107469955961219?ref=ts Twitter: tsdivadani Hashtag tweets with #tspod Comments[0]

On a post-PodcampAZ high.. I am always so inspired after these weekends! Have some great ideas for putting some life back into the show. That means, of course, getting more than one episode a month out! I will also put audio up from the session I presented at Podcamp this year- on podcasting your politics and still have people take you seriously. It went really well, and ended up being more of a discussion than a speaking presentation. But hey- that's what I'm all about! For now, here is a show that I recorded with the guest you all have come to know and even like a little here on the show, Scott Josephson! We watched the compelling documentary "Vietnam in HD" on the History Channel, and after a little PodcampAZ banter we get into our thoughts about that. The show runs a little longer than the last couple of episodes, at about an hour. Don't go into cardiac arrest at the change. ;) We also end with a question for our viewers- so enjoy! Be warned, as is usually the case when Scott is on the show, the explicit tag was earned. Within the first 2 minutes, even! Come on, is anyone surprised I'm going to talk about the Occupy Wall Street movement? I didn't think so. A lot of information, and a lot of links, so let's get to it! *Overall, great media coverage. *It's gone global! *NOT a partisan protest. I repeat- NOT. *You have no class, baby. *Herman Cain might blame the gov't, but Wall Street caused the crash. BUT, the gov't didn't exactly prevent it. *Alternet: 10 Things To Know About Wall Street's Attack On America *Status Quo. *Field Negro: Protectors Of Oligarchy *Don't fall for the tricks. *Breaking Copy: Media Bias and Occupy Wall Street (a MUST to look at) *Take it to the voting booth. *Promo: Riskwear vs. Ex Fumo Gaudiam *Next topic- changing your name after marriage *Big Think: Are Women Paying the Price For Taking Their Husband's Name? *Dani be un-edumacated. *No, honey, you're not having dinner on the table and a backrub while I turn on the game for you. Unless I get the same tomorrow. *Facebook Question: Many of my friends, who have and have not taken their husband's name, were in agreement to the stupidity of the study. *Why is being married and supporting a family a plus in the man's column, but a negative in the woman's? *Guys, would you take your wife's name? *Hyper-feminism can make all women look stupid. *It's about choice. It's about non-judgment. It's about doing what you're happy with. I hope to get a show out before then, but well, you all know me. ;) Register and get involved! Lookie- I'm even speaking! Comments[0]

Lots of crazy stuff happening in my life and in the world. Personal obligations keep chipping away at my time... but no way am I gone. ;) -Started writing this show as I was watching Democracy Now coverage of the Troy Davis execution. This case was a disaster. Let me try and explain why. Background on the case HERE and HERE. -You kill a cop, you are convicted without a trial. -The hypocrisy of the angry mob mentality -Ah! A reasonable look at this from someone I admire greatly. -How race plays into incarceration. -Sean Bell? Who's that? -Is the prison system racist? The stats are disputed. -What about the cost of keeping inmates on death row? -We interrupt this topic for some Lee Coulter. -One last thought on Troy Davis and the death penalty. Rehab. Hear me out first, then roll your eyes. -Why I am against the death penalty. -Feedback time! I have an email to read! Yay! -In other news, I have taken on a new volunteer position. This one is going to push my limits, that is for sure. - Extra reading: Good OpEd on eyewitness accounts and their inaccuracy. I have not faded! I seriously thought about it though. I'm feeling like a disgruntled employee. However, I've got my groove back, so let's get back to work, shall we? - What I did on my summer vacation - Well, that was quick. - A mom's work is never done. - Being out of AZ is like a breath of fresh air. - Excuse me while I rant about kids, teachers, and Facebook - You want to hear this local Phoenix band, The Veragroove! - Ok, how about some politics now? - Hey it's election season again! Hooray? - Yep, two-party players are bitching about third party independent voting again. - The government is bad. Hey wait, aren't WE the government? - The Tea Party is a genius idea. - And now, I read you the best opt-ed I've read in two weeks. Summertime! You know what that means... Actually I have no idea what that means. It's another season. It's still busy life as usual. That never changes. I wasn't going to talk about Anthony Weiner. Really, I wasn't. Then my fellow thinkers started talking about it, saying resign and all that stuff. I want to tell you why he shouldn't. Yeah, I know he has. Bad move, if you ask me. I'm also going to talk about welfare. Have you ever needed it? No? Then maybe you should stop judging others who do. Ok then, on with the show! *What Weiner was working on before the "scandal" erupted. Get it? Erupted? *Tune from Lee Coulter! *Mandatory drug testing isn't a good idea. Guess I need to carry on the show, since the world didn't end last weekend. So I'll cover some feedback- got a great email from my laugh crush Barely over at Barely Podcasting, who caught up on Episode 96: Choice. Also a great audio submission from Tristen! He lives up there north of the US border, and gives us a wrap up of the recent historic Canadian election that took place on May 5th. Plus a special dedication going out to Jesus! Modern Science! Enjoy! Email: tsdiva AT gmail DOT com Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Truth-Seekers-Podcast/107469955961219?ref=ts Comments[0]
