Even with pushing the podcast aside due to the usual crazy that is my life, I couldn't let this election season go by without getting the gang together to talk about the Ballot Propositions on the Arizona ballot! Just me and the boys this time- Miles, Naum, and Sean- and we went over several of the "hot ticket" items to hopefully help you make some sense of all the nonsense. We all have just enough ideological differnces to make for some good (and at times, heated) discussions. Rest assured no one was harmed during the recording of this show. Oh and PS- I didn't edit, so please do not laugh too hard at all my "likes" and "you knows". Props discussed: 115: Judge selection process 120: State sovereignty 121: Open primary elections 204: Education tax 114: Crime victims liability Here on the event page are more links to further your knowledge. We hope we didn't confuse you further! Enjoy- and VOTE on November 6th! Recorded back in April- still relevent. This time we focus on women's issues and how the right to choose what to do with our bodies continues to be controlled by others. You know, those people in the government who believe in freedom and stuff. - A newbie! Hello Cheyenne! -Dani makes Miles feel like a piece of meat. -Republican women- what ARE they doing? -No one is thinking big picture with these new bills restricting aborion services. -Fear and anger work. -When does life actually begin? -Who has a right to dictate? -It's not "pro-life" -Mind your business! -Forced-informed opinion. Wha? -Having a website full of futuses is guilt. -Should the government just stay out of it? -Why does everyone pick on women? -Dani wants to raise her own flock- ok not really. -Good luck jumping out of that airplane. -Miles tells a joke! -We want opposing viewpoints! -Miles keeps boiling it down to property. -Next on Maury Povich... -Oh, NOW we need government to control people and business. -Can hospitals and pharacists really refuse service? -If you're tax exempt, you have no say in what you can do. -Switching gears, there is no war on women! -Is salary more important for men? -Can gender roles change? -Who holds out for more when you talk salary? -What are women really worried about? -Will all of this backfire come November? -From women to... voting. -We can't stop talking! Well, we hope. One thing we are finding out at these roundtable discussions is even though we have great discussions of the details, we don't really disagree on the bottom line. I'm going to try harder for future discussions to get more opposing views. We don't bite- I promise! We just want to truly understand where others are coming from. This episode was originally recorded in February. Yes, February. Shut up, I know. However, the topic continues to be relative as dieseases such as measles and pertussis are slowing making comebacks. In Washington state they have to tap into emergency funds and practically have an epidemic of whopping cough on their hands. Which could all be prevented if everyone were up to date and vaccinated. You see my bias- I believe in vaccinations. I believe in the science behind them, and proof is everywhere that they work, and do more good than harm. The link between vaccines and autism has been debunked. As much as I try to understand what the fear is in those who do not vaccinate their children, I can't. Reasons I've read and heard do not match up with the science. So I gathered the roundtable crew of Debbie, Dan, and Miles, and we had a pretty good discussion. I apologize for the background noise- there was a gathering in the other room, and they were quite chatty. Hey remember that radio thing I do? Well there have been several requests to stick the local news I cover all week in the podcast feed. So, now I'm finally doing it! Need a new intro/outro, but for now the old headline show ones will do. Here are all the stories (with commentary from yours truly) that I covered on the radio this week! And if you ever want a little background music during your middays, tune in to 106.7fm, or you can also stream on kwss.org. You can even stream it on the ol' smartphone with the TuneIn app! Enjoy catching up on the news I felt was important enough to talk about. :)

Two shows within one month- that must be a new record! We are back with another Round Table! The regulars are almost all here, as well as a couple of newcomers! We've got Debbie, Miles, and Sean, plus Crystal and Naum! This episode we all took the Political Compass Test, and discussed not only our results, but about the questions themselves, and how some were hard to answer. Highlights: RECORDED JANUARY 17TH -Tests teach society to lie, -View of the US from other countries. -A bunch of white people start talking about race. -SOPA/PIPA- yep that's how old this recording is. I thought about cutting it, but then again it's good to know what it is because it will come up again in Congress. -What was the topic? -Is it class or race/nationality that divides us? - Should taxpayer money fund museums - What is education, exactly? - We're angry, dammit! - PBS, oh that PBS. - Pray for a benevolent dictator. - Rehab or punishment - We create more prisoners than are criminal. - Elected leaders and coercing their views. - We're all Libertarian, we just don't know it yet! - Sex! - Who knew that when you get to know someone, stereotypes just don't hold up. - Get us some porn. - We need a contrarian to our topics. Celebrity Republicans and Democrats Next Round Table Topic: We take the Political Compass Quiz and discuss the questions, and our results! **RECORDED ON DECEMBER 13, 2011. I'm offline today- and leaving all of you browsing by information on the SOPA and PIPA bills currently in Congress. They are anti-piracy laws. If passed with the current wording, industries would have WAY too much power over sites they can shut down. Just because in your little home video on you tube there's a music video by Maroon 5 playing in the background. I'm not kidding. It's so serious that Wikipedia, Reddit, and other high-profile websites are going black for 24 hours in protest. Educate yourself, and read more about these bills: http://americancensorship.org/ Tons of info on the FB page too! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Truth-Seekers-Podcast/107469955961219 Fight censorship!
